Andermatt to get a chemist’s again – search for staff has begun
Andermatt is to get a chemist’s again during the second half of 2023. It will be located in the Edelweiss building on Piazza Gottardo in Andermatt Reuss. This development has been made possible thanks to funding from multiple sources.
Andermatt’s population has long expressed its need for a chemist’s. The increase in the number of guests and owners of apartments in Andermatt Reuss has highlighted the need for a chemist’s even more. This is why Andermatt Swiss Alps together with the community of Andermatt and the canton of Uri has decided to open a chemist’s on Piazza Gottardo in Andermatt Reuss. The plan is for it to open during the second half of the current year.
Andermatt Swiss Alps, the Municipality of Andermatt and the Canton of Uri are contributing to the start-up funding and operation. Together, these contributions will enable guaranteed operation over the next few years.
Andermatt Swiss Alps AG will operate the chemist’s Andermatt Swiss Alps AG will have the drugstore managed by a subsidiary with the aim of becoming independent in the medium term. Qualified personnel is now being sought for the company, which is indispensable for its openings. The chemist’s is to be open six days a week. Andermatt Swiss Alps will be provided with specialist assistance from the chemist’s chain Swidro.
