conferences, as well as private functions.

World class. For culture of the highest order

The Andermatt Concert Hall was inaugurated in 2019 and exemplifies cultural enjoyment in every respect. The building is more than just an architectural and acoustic masterpiece; it is also the first concert building in an Alpine destination and Switzerland's highest situated concert hall. Since 2022 the Andermatt Concert Hall has had its own house orchestra – the Swiss Orchestra.

Large stage.For intense emotions

The Andermatt Concert Hall provides seating for up to 650 people. But that doesn't mean that so many seats always need to be occupied. Just the opposite: Owing to its flexible interior design, the Concert Hall is also well suited for more intimate functions, like conferences, exhibitions, banquets, and weddings. The building is even accessible by car and equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology. Intense emotions are guaranteed.

The architecture.Close to the stars

The Andermatt Concert Hall was designed by Studio Seilern Architects under the direction of Christina Seilern. Because it was decided not to have an elevated stage, the audience is seated closer to the artists and stars than anywhere else. A key feature of the state-of-the-art auditorium is its great flexibility: up to nine rows of seats can be stored away under the main balcony.

The acoustics. For every tone

Kahle Acoustics and Ducks Scéno were responsible for the acoustics and the auditorium design. Every facet of the origami-inspired wood cladding has been acoustically optimised; an electronic reverberation system makes it possible to adapt the acoustics for different music styles, ensembles and audience sizes.

Awards.Distinguished concert architecture

In 2022 the Andermatt Concert Hall won the Architizer A+Award in the category “Cultural: Hall / Theater”. The award honours the best architecture of the year in a number of categories. In addition, the Concert Hall received the Special Award for Reuse & Adaptation at the 2023 Civic Trust Awards.
