Unmatched Alpine golfing – that is what golfers will find at the 18-hole, par-72 championship course in Andermatt. Golf course surrounded by intact mountain environment
Course with international tournament standard
Named Switzerland's best golf course
Reminiscent of Scotland. Typically Swiss
Golfers say that the Andermatt Golf Course reminds them of Scottish courses. Because the landscape of the Ursern Valley is largely devoid of trees, the golf course in Andermatt is similar to those in Scotland: a natural, open layout that is heavily influenced by wind. The inimitable mountain backdrop of the Swiss Alps, together with the meadows, streams and cattle, evoke a sublime feeling of unmatched Alpine golfing.
The Andermatt Golf Course was designed by the renowned golf course architect Kurt Rossknecht. He incorporated the existing terrain in such a way that the course blends seamlessly into the surroundings. That gives the golf course in Andermatt its incomparable charm and makes it an attraction of its very own, also drawing the interest of passers-by and non-golfers.
The Andermatt Golf Course was designed in a foresighted manner. It meets the most challenging environmental standards and is operated in an environmentally friendly manner. Independent monitoring actions have confirmed that the golf course provides ecological added value. Many types of dragonflies have made their way here, and endangered bird species, particularly ground breeders, build their nests in the extensively used meadows around the golf course. The Andermatt Golf Course has been certified with the globally recognised GEO label.
