Matthias Furrer

Chief Operation Officer

Matthias Furrer completed his Master’s study in Banking & Finance at the University of Zurich and the BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo. He then trained to become an expert in accounting and controlling.

While studying, Furrer gained his first work experience as a driver for the Pilatus Bahnen cableways company and as a financial reporting employee at Credit Suisse. From 2012 to 2017, he worked for KPMG as an advisor in the forensics department, where he specialised in uncovering economic crime and corruption inside and outside Switzerland.

In 2018 Furrer joined Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of HR. In 2021 he was assigned the added role of deputy CEO and headed the business unit Cableways on an interim basis in the second half of 2021. Since 1 January 2022, he has been in charge of the newly created business area Destination Operation at Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, with responsibility for holistically ensuring the operation and further development of the business units Golf, Logistics and Property Management. Matthias Furrer also oversees the commercial and strategic development of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG.

Furrer enjoys spending time outdoors jogging, snowboarding and biking.
