A successful start to Andermatt Music

February 8, 2022

The first three concerts organised by Andermatt Music took place last weekend under the direction of the Swiss conductor Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer. It was a successful start.

On Friday evening, the Swiss Orchestra, the house orchestra under the direction of Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer, performed with violinist Alina Pogostkina before a large audience. Saturday evening featured Hélène Grimaud. The world renowned star pianist performed pieces by Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann, filling the sold-out Concert Hall with beautiful piano melodies – it was a concert evening in a class of its own.

In addition to the evenings with classical music and world stars, the multifaceted programme of Andermatt Music also featured music from the homeland. For Gläuffig, which performed on Sunday evening, this was a “home” appearance. The skilful playing, with folk music tradition blending with innovative ideas, thrilled the numerous visitors on the final evening as well.

Andermatt Music brings classical music to Andermatt. The richly arranged programme is directed at classical-music fans of all ages. In addition to the Swiss Orchestra, which is the house orchestra, the concerts this year will feature performances by other stars of classical music, world-famous orchestras and outstanding line-ups from Central Switzerland.
