On fat wheels

The bikes with the big tyres are perfect for riding on soft surfaces, like snow and mud. They're sturdy, and thanks to their strong shock absorbers, the riding sensation is gentle even on bumpy terrain.
One-of-a-kind winter experience
Riding a fatbike for the first time takes some getting used to. For experienced cyclists, however, this won't be a problem. For a real winter experience, it's fun to go fatbiking in a small group, followed by a proper Uri cheese fondue, called a “Chääsfondü” in the local dialect. E-fatbikes are also available for riders over the age of 16.
If you decide to set out without a guide, you can find an attractive route on the winter hiking trail to Realp, where you can really put your fatbike through its paces. Riding on ski pistes is not permitted, other than during Fatbike Adventure by Night. Try a lively tour with trained Swiss Cycling Guides, who can offer you tips and tricks about riding technique.

Well cushioned over hill and dale
A fatbike with thick, soft tyres will bring riders comfortably over bumpy terrain. We recommend a relaxed excursion to the Unteralp conservation area, past roaring waterfalls and colourful meadows with mountain wildflowers. If you’re not sure you’re physically up for this route, you can rent an e-fatbike (riders must be over the age of 16).
