The fish are bit­ing on Ober­alp Lake

Oberalp Lake is home to brown and rainbow trout as well as char. The clear water and plenty of oxygen offer them the perfect environment for thriving.

Situated on the border between the cantons of Uri and Grisons at 2,027 metres above sea level, Oberalp Lake is home to brown and rainbow trout as well as char. It is easy to reach: with the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, by bicycle, on foot or by car via the pass road. A fishing licence is required in order to fish on Oberalp Lake. It can be purchased from the kiosk at the Piz Calmot mountain inn. Up to six fish per day are allowed be taken from the lake. The Uri fishing licence is not valid for Oberalp Lake. The season runs from June to September.

Fishing material (other than fishing rods) can be purchased from the kiosk at the Piz Calmot mountain inn.
